Assisi hosted a Memorial Ceremony in honour of Guido Dettoni della Grazia, who passed away on 6 March 2026. It was a special occasion that brought together family, friends, colleagues and admirers from around the world to remember and pay tribute to his life, his work and the lasting legacy he leaves behind as an artist, a friend and a human being.

Celebration lunch
Trattoria Pallotta

After the memorial ceremony, we gathered around a table to celebrate Guido in the way he loved most: sharing good food, conversation and friendship.

Those who wished to join us came together for lunch at the historic Trattoria Pallotta, one of Assisi’s landmark restaurants, where the authentic culinary traditions of Umbria have been preserved since 1860. Located in Piazza del Comune, the trattoria is tucked beneath the charming Volta Pinta, whose walls are adorned with sixteenth-century frescoes by Raffaellino del Colle.

It was a place especially dear to Guido, and gathering there felt like a natural continuation of the morning’s celebration. Around the table, family, friends and collaborators shared stories, memories and laughter, surrounded by the warmth and simplicity that Guido so loved.

More than a farewell, it was a celebration of life, friendship and the joy of being together — a way of remembering Guido as he would have wished: among people, around a table, with good conversation and an open heart.
