Assisi hosted a Memorial Ceremony in honour of Guido Dettoni della Grazia, who passed away on 6 March 2026. It was a special occasion that brought together family, friends, colleagues and admirers from around the world to remember and pay tribute to his life, his work and the lasting legacy he leaves behind as an artist, a friend and a human being.

After hearing so many words, the music, the story of MARIA, and the memories shared by those who had walked alongside Guido, the time came to make room for an image.
An image destined to remain at Santa Maria delle Rose as a sign of Guido’s presence and of the profound bond that, over the years, connected the artist with Assisi.
The portrait of Guido, unveiled by his daughter Ida together with Silvia Buzi, a member of the Santa Maria delle Rose Cooperative, represents a new form of his presence: no longer through his person, but through his work, his artistic journey, and the profound mark he left behind.
Placed alongside MARIA, Guido’s portrait has become part of the exhibition that preserves his work in Assisi. Here, in the heart of the city that Guido chose as a privileged place to share his artistic journey, his work continues to live and to meet the gaze of visitors from all over the world each day.
His presence thus remains deeply connected to Assisi: to its history, its spirituality, and the community that welcomed him and accompanied his artistic journey.
A simple and symbolic gesture that marked the transition from personal remembrance to shared memory: Guido continues to be present in Assisi through his work, alongside MARIA, in the exhibition that preserves and tells the story of his artistic journey, his sensitivity, and his vision.
