After 25 years since its inauguration, a renovation is needed.

To fund the project, the Santa Maria delle Rose Cooperative, is resorting to contributions from families, individuals, corporations, foundations, and other entities. In return for the contribution, their names will be mentioned on the web page, on a testimonial placard at the exhibition, and in the forthcoming book MARIA TROVATA (MARIA found).

Here's a quick update on the renovation!

Renovation of Guido Dettoni della Grazia’s Contemporary Sacred Art Exhibition at the Church of Santa Maria delle Rose.

June 2025

Thanks to the contributions received up to now, we have started the renovation works according to the schedule planned last March.

Much has been achieved. However, there is still a need for new loudspeakers, a control booth, an air conditioning convector, and a testimonial placard at the exhibition mentioning the sponsor’s name until the end of the sponsorship period. Last but not least is the printing of the Italian version of the book MARIA TROVATA and its e-book edition in six additional languages.

Contributions are still welcome to complete the work begun and to fully develop the program of artistic and cultural activities at the exhibition.

The thirty-three wooden statues of MARIA  have been meticulously restored by the artist. They have been returned to their original splendor of the time of the first MARIA exhibition in Barcelona in 1998.

The upper structure of the Alpha of the installation, which had been altered by various earthquakes, has been reinforced and completed to prevent further damage, recovering the original plumb on the Omega.

Renovation work is currently underway on the plasterwork, all the doors and the access door. A square, black, tubular iron frame now surrounds the entire terracotta floor of the church. The signage has been updated.

The entire electrical installation in both the church and the Alpha-Omega structure has been renewed.

Sponsors

On a testimonial placard at the exhibition and on the book MARIA TROVATA, the names of the sponsors are listed, the font size of which depends on the amount of the donation.

Up to date, the sponsors are:

Egea-Krier family
Guerciolini-Sannipola family
Paolo Dettoni Arvedi
Hotel Fontebella Palace
Bartolomé i Regué family
Carles Duarte i Montserrat
Maria and Rose Coppa
P. Ludger Plümpe

With the advice of Marco Casagrande, an experienced builder who has curated the exhibition for many years, we selected a group of artisans from Assisi who, together with their collaborators, were able to work on the restoration with dedication and devotion: Ernesto Mancinelli, blacksmith – Spartaco Rossi, builder – Paolo Banditella, carpenter – Marco Pompili, electrician. To all of them, our thanks.
